Volleyball: East Hall splits area tri-match, as Hix and Deppe reach milestones

DECATUR -- The East Hall volleyball team defeated Decatur 25-22, 25-17 and lost to Blessed Trinity 25-14, 25-7 in a tri-match on Tuesday in Decatur.

The Lady Vikings (21-12, 2-4 Area 5-AAA) notched coach Ted Deppe's 200th career win during the night, while Kara Hix moved to third all time in the state of Georgia with her 23 digs on the night.

Tarryn Long scored seven points on serve with four aces, 18 kills, two assists and seven digs, while Hix had five points scored on serve with an ace, four kills and an assist -- along with her 23 digs. Ashleigh Burnett scored two points on serve with five digs, while Emily Roberts had two kills and three digs; Allyson Segars scored five points on serve, four kills and a dig; Savannah Lindsey had five points scored on serve and seven digs; Cassida Shockley had five scored points on serve, 10 digs and 20 assists.

The Lady Vikings play host to Rabun County and Madison County on Thursday.
