Volleyball: Johnson splits at East Hall play date

RABBITTOWN -- The Johnson girls volleyball team split four matches saturday at a play date at East Hall.

The Lady Knights held off Winder Barrow in straight sets and then lost to Athens Christian in three sets after winning the first set. They responded with a three-set win over host East Hall but fell to Lanier in straight sets in the nightcap.

Brooke Balenger paced Johnson with six aces and 18 kills. Kelly Chance added nine assists and three aces and Cassie McDonald had five aces and eight kills for the Lady Knights.

Kasey Gravitt had 15 assists and Caitlin Parsons had three digs for Johnson (7-15).

Johnson next will travel to Madison County on Tuesday.
