LAWRENCEVILLE -- Mill Creek recovered four Mountain View fumbles, including two returned for touchdowns in a 42-3 defeat of the Bears in Lawrenceville.

The Hawks (3-0, 1-0 Region 7-AAAAAA) pounced on Mountain View early, scoring 28 unanswered first quarter points, including two defensive touchdowns for Andrew Sciara, who scooped and scored two Bears fumbles -- the first coming after the Hawks fumbled after already picking up a Bears turnover originating on the same play.

Mill Creek needed just 238 yards of offense to complete the domination and allowed just 182 for Mountain View.

Johnathan Hawkins paced Mill Creek with seven rushes for 51 yards and a touchdown, while Carter Governale added six carries for 34 yards and a score. Quarterback Daniel David finished the game 4 of 8 passing for 66 yards and a touchdown -- a 27-yard scoring strike to Joe Hull in the first quarter.

DeVozea Felton also had a four-yard touchdown run in the first quarter.

The win put Mill Creek at 50-50 in its 100th ever contest. The Hawks will look to ride that momentum into next week's showdown with Peachtree Ridge in Hoschton -- where the Hawks have yet to beat the Lions, previously only winning at Peachtree Ridge.
