Softball: Jefferson edges out Union County in eight innings

JEFFERSON -- The Jefferson softball team outlasted Union County 5-4 in 8 innings on Thursday in Jefferson.

Olivia Husted earned the win for the Lady Dragons (12-4, 8-1 Region 8-AA), going all eight innings.

Savannah Snapp provided the clinching RBI for Jefferson, scoring Ashley Boyd. Snapp finished the game with two hits, including a double, while Ashley Boyd crushed a three-run home run in the third inning. Raegan Sandy also finished 2-for-3, and Emily Dufty added an RBI.

Jefferson play in the North Hall Tournament on Friday and Saturday in Gainesville, taking on North Hall, Fannin County, Towns County and Laney.
