It was the Board's idea to promote and call more attention to the recycling centers in the first place. Thursday night Public Works Director Ken Rearden displayed some staff ideas, including solid pink recycling bins.
"The Commission asked us to look at ways to embellish recycling more, so the staff came up with pink recycling bins," Rearden said. "It's going to be very noticeable out there at the recycling sites and hopefully with the signage we're adding, it will enhance our recycling program."
Signs will encourage people to recycle their glass, plastic, and aluminum cans and Rearden added that glass won't have to go into a separate bin anymore.
The EVMS could review and approve the signs and the pink bins when they meet next week.
