SUWANEE -- Class AAAAAA second-ranked Collins Hill scored five runs in the first inning and then held off a furious comeback from Class AAA No. 1-ranked Buford to take a 6-5 win and hand the Lady Wolves their first loss of the season Saturday at North Gwinnett High School.

The Lady Eagles strung together four straight hits with two outs in the first inning after taking advantage of a Buford error.

Buford would score three times in the second to cut into the lead on a two-run single from Baylee Sexton. The Lady Wolves cut the lead to 5-4 in the fourth on a Drew Puckett home run.

Collin Hill added an insurance run in the fifth to make it 6-4 but Buford would get the winning run on base.

Puckett walked and moved to third on a single by Sexton. Puckett then scored on a single by Niki Cook putting runners at second and third with one out. But Remington Hasty would fly out to short centerfield and Jordan Deep grounded out to the pitcher to end the game.
