Softball: Lady Wolves win battle of unbeatens in 7-AAA showdown

DAWSONVILLE -- In the first major battle in Region 7-AAA, Class AAA No. 1 ranked Buford took advantage of four errors in a 12-0 win in five innings over Dawson County Thursday.

The Lady Wolves (12-0, 5-0 Region 7-AAA) jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the second inning with a Morgan Walters home run and then added three more runs on two Dawson County errors.

They added two runs in the fourth and then blew the game open with a six-run fourth that saw Buford get two walks, four hits, and two Dawson County errors to push the lead to 12-0.

Tessa Daniels got the win for Buford allowing just one hit while fanning five.

Junior Jordan Deep had two hits and three RBI to lead the Buford offense. Senior Niki Cook had two hits, two RBI, and scored twice and Walters finished with two hits and scored two runs for the Lady Wolves.

Buford next will play Collins at North Gwinnett High School on Saturday.
