CLEVELAND - The driver of a suspected stolen vehicle crashed that vehicle and ran from the scene in White County Wednesday afternoon.

The incident started around 1 p.m. and White County Sheriff's Office spokesman Tim Chapman said the vehicle was stolen out of Hall County.

A White County sheriff's unit got behind the suspect at County Line Church Road and Georgia Highway 254. Chapman said the suspect, identified as Jimmy Moss, (age and address unavailable), while fleeing from the officer lost control and wrecked. Following the crash, Moss fled the scene on foot.

A Georgia State Patrol helicopter was called to assist in the search.

According to Chapman, a Hall County K-9 unit and two White County deputies tracked the man to Jackson Road and U.S. Highway 129 South, where he was apprehended.

In addition to the expected charges from Hall County, Chapman said White County has three arrest warrants for Moss.
