Softball: Buford dominates White County after slow start

BUFORD -- The Buford softball team needed some time to get going on Tuesday but rolled as the game wore on, blanking White County 8-0 in six innings in Buford.

Morgan Walters got things going for the Lady Wolves (11-0, 4-0 Region 7-AAA), crushing a two-run home run in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Meanwhile, Bria Bush (4-0) was dominant on the mound for Buford, pitching a complete game, while allowing just two hits and striking out nine batter without yielding a walk.

Walters finished the game 2-for-3 from the plate, including a double and two runs scored to go along with her home run. Meanwhile, Remington Hasty added a double, sac fly and two RBI, and Niki Cook went 2-for-2 with an RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base. Baylee Sexton also finished 2-for-3 with an 1 RBI and two runs scored.

Buford travels to face Dawson County at 5:55 p.m. Thursday.
