Police identify suspect in bank robbery

LAWRENCEVILLE - Gwinnett county detectives have identified the suspect as 28 years-old Jeremy Thompson. He is described as a black male, 6'06'' tall and 180 pounds. An updated photo is not currently available.

LAWRENCEVILLE - Police believe the man who robbed a Wells Fargo Bank in Norcross Tuesday morning is responsible for two other bank robberies last week.

Tuesday's robbery happened at the Wells Fargo branch at 6155 Jimmy Carter Blvd., around 9:18 a.m.

Employees told police a well dressed black man waited in line for a teller, presented a note demanding money and displayed what looked like a hand grenade. Police said the man left on foot.

Police and the FBI believe the same man robbed Wells Fargo branches in Doraville and Buckhead.

The suspect is described as a well dressed black man, with dark skin, about 6'05" with a thin build.

Police said in the Tuesday robbery, he wore a black button-up shirt, blue jeans, sunglasses and a straw fedora hat.

Wells Fargo is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.
