FLOWERY BRANCH - Flowery Branch Police early Friday morning nabbed an HVAC technician who allegedly stole a 50 inch flat screen television from a business he'd worked at Thursday.

Officer Jake Switalski responded to an alarm at Green's Tavern on Hog Mountain Road around 4:50 a.m. Switalski found Christopher Scott Lester, 46, trying to hide in bushes around the building with the television he'd stolen, according to Flowery Branch Police Chief David Spillers.

Police said Lester had done some HVAC work at the business Thursday and even ate his evening meal there.

"I suspect that he may have done this in other areas as a result of his familiarity with residences and businesses because of his HVAC experience," Spillers said.

Police said Lester is self-employed, listing his home address in Carroll County.

"He has an extensive criminal history in Gwinnett County as well as Jackson County. He lists his address as Carrollton, Georgia, but I suspect that he has been most active in Gwinnett and southern Hall County," Spillers said.

Following his arrest, police charged Lester with second degree burglary. He was booked into the Hall County Jail.

Flowery Branch Police encouraged anyone who may have experienced a similar incident with Lester to call authorities in their area.
