Clermont Farmer's Market extends run into October

CLERMONT - With two successful weekends behind them, organizers of the Clermont Farmers Market have decided to keep the market open through the growing season.

Each Saturday until October 5, vendors from all over the region will gather from 9 to noon in the parking lot of the newly-renovated Clermont Chattahoochee Center at 639 Main Street.

The trial runs were held the past two Saturdays, August 10 and August 17.

"Our game plan is to hit the ground running next season and be open the entire growing season," Kristi Crumpton said previously. Crumpton is one of the organizers of the market and is also the vice-president of the Clermont Historical Society.

Crumpton said some of the vendors come from the Gainesville Farmer's Market and some are local growers selling excess stock.

"We do have a lot of local farmers who don't necessarily have enough to sell every single week, but [they may say] 'I've go too much okra this week that I need to get rid of,' so we have to have some local farmers there as well," said Crumpton.
