A group of Republican women recently took the steps necessary to begin the process of forming the club. A number of women in Hall County had wanted to get their club going for many years.
At a meeting late last month, by-laws were discussed and passed, and the first group of officers were also elected.
They are:
President: Martha Zoller
Vice President: Lauren Bell
Recording Secretary: Tressa Rawlinson
Communications Sec./ Webmaster: Bettye Chambers
Treasurer: Rebecca Yarbrough
Membership Chair: Theresa Webb
Objectives of the club, according a website posting:
*Increase the effectiveness of women in the cause of good government through active political participation.
*Foster loyalty to the Republican Party at all levels of government and work for Republican candidates in all elections.
*Promote the principles of the Republican Party and the objectives and policies of the Republican National Committee.
*Support the objectives and policies of the Republican National Committee, National Federation of Republican Women, and Georgia Federation of Republican Women.
*Promote an informed electorate through political education.
The necessary paper work was completed to submit to the Georgia Federation of Republican Women thus initiating the steps to secure our federated charter.
The new group will be affiliated with the Georgia Federation of Republican Women and the National Federation of Republican Women.
Potential members are invited to join the new club. Regular meetings will be held once a month. The first membership meeting will take place on Thursday, September 26, at 5:30 p.m. at Silver Bay Restaurant on Browns Bridge Road in Gainesville.
Martha Zoller is the president of the new organization.
