Hall County Probate Judge Patty Walters Laine organized the program, which is meant to help the scouts learn about their local government.
"We'll have about 30 girls in second through 10th grades and ten leaders coming to the Hall County Courthouse to learn about local, state and federal government symbols and to talk to our elected officials about what it means to be a public servant," Laine said prior to the event.
In addition, Laine said the scouts were to take a tour of the courthouse, learn about compromise and mediation and explore the local voting process.
"In general, it will be about what it means to be a citizen, but the program will vary based on the age of the girls," she said.
In addition to Laine, Superior Court Judges Bonnie Oliver and Kathleen Gosselin were to participate in the event, as well as Chief Magistrate Judge Margaret Gregory, Magistrate Court Judge Elizabeth Reisman, Solicitor General Stephanie Woodard and Hall County Elections Director Charlotte Sosebee.
If there is interest, Laine said she hopes to make it an annual event.
