GAINESVILLE - Hall County authorities arrested a Gainesville man Wednesday on warrants that led to new drug charges.

According to Gainesville/Hall County Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad Lt. Scott Ware, Hall County Sheriff's Office investigators responded to a residence in the 5200 block of Bogus Road.

They found 39 year old Eric Charles Chambers. Chambers had 15 outstanding arrest warrants from an incident with the Georgia State Patrol on May 25, according to Ware.

Investigators Wednesday said Chambers tried to hide and eventually tried to escape from the bathroom of the residence.

Ware said property investigators found 14 baggies of marijuana during the arrest. He said it totalled about two pounds, worth an estimated $4000 on the street. MANS agents subsequently charged Chambers with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute.

Ware said during the May incident with the state patrol, Chambers also had about two pounds of marijuana in his possession.
