CUMMING - An accident on Old Atlanta Road in south Forsyth County today killed one and injured four others.

Sheriff's Deputy Doug Rainwater said authorities arrived at the scene at about 11 in the morning. Two cars, a 2002 Toyota Camry and a 2012 Honda Odyssey, collided on Old Atlanta Road near Sharon Road.

"During the course of this investigation, the driver of the Toyota Camry was dead at the scene," said Rainwater.

The victim was 43-year-old Tracy Bieler of Suwanee. Her 11 year old daughter was sitting in the front seat and was critically injured. The child is was transported to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite. Another 11 year old in the vehicle, a family friend in the back seat, was taken to Scottish Rite for non-life threatening injuries.

A child in the Honda Odysessy, a 7 year old, were also transported to Scottish Rite. The driver of the Odysessy, Mujtaba Syed, 40, of Cumming was transported to North Fulton Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Authorities are unsure as to whether the cause of the accident is weather related or simply driver error. "The Camry did lose control at one point, but we also believe it's weather-related," said Rainwater.

"At that moment in time in south Forsyth county it was raining very hard. So we do believe at one point the camry lost control, whether or not its driver error or the fact that it was raining so hard we do not know at this time and that is under investigation."

Deputy First Class Michale Nelson said in a press release that the heavy weather was a contributing factor in the accident. The investigation is continuing.
