EAST POINT (AP)- A woman accused in the death of an East Point police officer was likely angry the victim had ended their relationship, prosecutors said Wednesday.

WSB-TV reported Danielle Parker appeared in court for a probable cause hearing and was charged with malice murder in the death of her ex-girlfriend and former housemate Crystal Parker.

Parker was found dead inside her house in early July. The officer's house was burglarized weeks before her shooting death, but the judge didn't find probable cause to charge Danielle Parker with burglary or theft.

Police have said text messages to Crystal Parker's co-workers and messages to her new girlfriend pinpointed Danielle Parker as a suspect.

Information collected from local cellphone towers indicated that Crystal and Danielle Parker were together July 4, which is when investigators believe she was killed.

During interviews with police, Danielle Parker said traveled by bus to the H.E. Holmes MARTA station and went to Wal-Mart with a friend. Crystal Parker's cell phone records indicate that she was with the suspect while she was at Wal-Mart, police said.

Crystal Parker was scheduled to work that afternoon and police say a supervisor sent her a text message asking where she was when she didn't show up.

A message sent from Crystal Parker's phone said she was at a hospital with her father, police said. The next day, authorities said Crystal Parker's new girlfriend began receiving vulgar messages on Facebook from Crystal Parker's account.

Police spoke with Crystal Parker's father and he said he hadn't been hospitalized. Police also say two $600 bank transfers were made between Crystal Parker's account and one she shared with Danielle Parker.

Public defender Stanley Constant asked if prosecutors considered whether the officer was targeted by someone she arrested.

Danielle Parker's bond hearing is scheduled for Aug. 7.
