CUMMING - A young Forsyth County man lost his life in the northern end of the county when a truck collided with his motorcycle Friday afternoon.

The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office identified the victim as 19 year old Cameron James Fullerton of Cumming.

"The incident occurred on Heardsville Road at the intersection of Pisgah Road in front of the old Heardsville Store," Sheriff's spokeswoman Karleen Chalker said.

It happened around 4:30 p.m., according to the sheriff's office. The business is now the Quick Serve convenience store.

Chalker said the the Ford F250 driver, 34 year old Jonathan Troy Sorrells of Cumming, is charged with misdemeanor vehicular homicide and failure to yield while turning left. He was arrested at the scene of the accident.

"It appears that the driver of the pickup truck was making a left hand turn into the parking lot of the store when it struck the motorcycle," Chalker said.

Investigators believe Fullerton tried to avoid the crash by veering right into the store parking lot, but was hit by the driver's side front of the pickup.

It's the second traffic-related death in the county this week. 21 year old Kirsti Sue Baiel of Cumming died when a car collided with her motor scooter at the intersection of McCoy Circle and Spot Road on Monday morning.
