Forsyth Co. confirms fox was rabid

CUMMING - A fox found in Forsyth County earlier this week has tested positive for rabies.

Forsyth County Sheriff's Office Animal Control Unit and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources responded to a call on Pilgrim Mill Road about a fox that had been acting rabid.

The fox had bitten two people. The two victims received medical attention at Northside Forsyth Hospital and have since been released.

The fox was located and then put down. Further investigation confirmed the fox had rabies.
