ATLANTA (AP) Atlanta city officials say the Office of International Affairs is working with Indian business leaders to expand opportunities in overseas markets.

Officials say delegates from the Federation of Indian Export Organizations and IndoUSAbiz will be in Atlanta from Wednesday to Friday.

City officials say businesses specializing in electrical equipment and engineering will meet with representatives from local companies and offer workshops on doing business in India.

In a statement, Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed said the trade delegation will help bolster the city's competitiveness in the global business arena by helping local companies find new markets.

City officials say Atlanta has been home to the Consulate General of the Republic of India since January 2012, and the metro Atlanta region is home to an Indian community of about 74,000 residents.
