MAYSVILLE - Firefighters from across Banks County were called to the scene of a house fire on Ervin Chambers Road Saturday afternoon.

The call was dispatched at 1:44 p.m.

There were no injuries in the blaze, initially said to involve 60 percent of the 1,800-square-foot home.

The Lee Arrendale State Prison Fire Team from Alto also responded and assisted with extinguishing the fire.

The heat of the day required firefighters to stop and hydrate and cool off frequently. Banks County's Mobile Support Team and medics from Banks County Fire and EMS ensured that responders did not suffer from dehydration or heat exhaustion.

The American Red Cross was on scene to assist the resident with immediate needs.
