CLEVELAND - White County firefighters were kept busy Tuesday morning with two vehicle fires, one involving a rural mail carrier's vehicle.

White County Fire Department Spokeswoman Ana Newberry said the mail vehicle was destroyed around 10:30 a.m. on Wild Turkey Trail. Newberry said the female mail carrier was shaken up, but not injured. She believed that all of the mail in the vehicle was saved from the fire.

Earlier in the day, a vehicle caught fire at the Chevron Convenience Store in East Kytle Street in Cleveland.

"Thank goodness it was not right at the gas pumps," said Newberry. She said staff at the store were able to extinguish the fire.

Newberry said the cause of both fires is unknown.
