BUFORD - The Hall County Sheriff's Office closed Golden Parkway for about two hours Wednesday afternoon following a written bomb threat discovered at an area manufacturer.

According to Hall County Sheriff's Sgt. Stephen Wilbanks, authorities closed down the roadway off of Lake Lanier Islands Parkway as a precaution as they searched the area.

Wilbanks said the written threat was found at the ElringKlinger USA facility on Golden Parkway shortly before 3:00 p.m.

Wilbanks said investigators cleared the area around 5:00 p.m., finding nothing suspicious other than the note.

He said the department's criminal investigations division was continuing to work the case.
