UNDATED - Today's severe weather has led to the closure of several roads in Hall and Gwinnett counties as a high volume of standing water continues to accumulate on roadways.

According to Hall County Public Information Officer Sgt. Stephen Wilbanks, a number of Hall County roads are currently closed, with a large portion of those closures coming in the southern end of the county.

As of 5pm Sunday, officials have listed the following as closed:
Atlanta Hwy at Flowery Way
McEver between HF Reed and Radford
Stephens Rd at Pippsisaw
Trudy Dr, Spring St Flowery Branch into Quad Oaks, Cove Creek

At last check, Trudy Drive (off of Lights Ferry Road) and Union Circle in Flowery Branch were closed, as are Stephens Road (near Pipsissewa Drive) and McEver Road south of West Hall High School in Oakwood.

A report posted by Channel 2 News also stated that a stretch of Atlanta Highway in Flowery Branch was impassable due to the high floodwaters, and that I-985 northbound was shut down at exit 14 due to a traffic accident involving multiple vehicles.

Gwinnett County has also seen a fair amount of closures today, according to Cpl. Troy Tobler, the Police Public Information Officer for the county.

Tobler said that due to flooding, authorities were forced to close the following intersections: Peachtree Industrial Boulevard at Little Mill Road, S. Lee Street at Buford Drive, and Hurricane Shoals Road/Winer Industrial Way at Old Norcross Rd.

A mud slide in Dawson County blocked one lane of Highway 53 at Warhill Park Road. Officials reported two feet of mud on the road.

The rain closed some roads around Atlanta University Center on Sunday as people were trying to get to the Morehouse College commencement to hear President Barrack Obama.

Despite the weather, Morehouse maintained its tradition of having an outdoor ceremony surrounded by old academic buildings. "The president didn't come to see the Georgia World Congress Center; he didn't come to see a football stadium. He came to see a Morehouse commencement," Anne Watts, associate vice president for academic affairs, told the drenched audience.

In Johns Creek, a tree fell on a bridge, blocking Parsons Road.
