CLARKESVILLE -- A man was taken by ambulance after his vehicle left the road and overturned in Clarkesville Saturday.

The Lexus SUV traveled off Grant Street (Historic Highway 441) just before the Habersham County Magistrate Court building.

The vehicle overturned onto its roof in a ravine.

The driver's dog was not hurt.

The wreck blocked traffic in north end of the city, already congested by the annual Mountain Laurel Festival.

The wreck was cleared around 2 p.m.
