ATLANTA - State officials are reminding drivers the national "Click It or Ticket" campaign is set to begin and could translate to fines for drivers and passengers who aren't wearing seatbelts.

Governor's Office of Highway Safety spokeswoman Katie Fallon says the seatbelt campaign begins Monday and authorities will be on increased lookout for drivers and passengers who aren't properly secured.

Officials say there were 421 traffic deaths in 2011 involving unrestrained victims and the state is on track to see more than 400 similar fatalities in 2013.

Fallon says the seatbelt campaign runs from May 20 to June 2.
