Kristi Gerrells, current assistant principal at Riverview Middle School in Dawson County, was approved Thursday night at the recommendation of White County School Superintendent Jeff Wilson.
Gerrells replaces Stephen Gill, who is leaving to take an active leadership position at his church.
Wilson said Gerrells comes highly recommended.
Gerrells, who lives in Lumpkin County, said WCMS is just 12 minutes from her home and she looks forward to the position.
