The Georgia Environmental Finance Authority (GEFA) Thursday released the latest round of funding applications for the Governor's Water Supply Program (GWSP).
Dawsonville's request was the highest among communities in our area, $20 million for the Calhoun Creek Reservoir.
Hall County's application requested $14.559 million for the proposed Glades Reservoir project.
Auburn officials asked for $2.45 million to convert an existing rock quarry into a reservoir.
Forsyth County's proposal asks for $800,000 for what the state listed as a well.
A GEFA news release indicated the applications will be reviewed and scored on the criteria of need, readiness, finances, regional cooperation and impact.
For round two, GEFA officials said they received a total of 11 applications for just over $140 million. The GWSP has $65.25 million on the table, $20.75 million in loans and $44.5 million in state direct investment, according to GEFA.
Officials plan to announce the funding awards this summer.
