School officials have designated 33 jobs, including 16 teaching positions, for elimination in next year's budget.
School Superintendent Philip Lanoue says affected workers will be notified by May 15.
School officials say some jobs had to be slashed because of funding cuts at the state and local level. But Lanoue says the steep federal budget cuts that resulted from the President and Congress failing to agree on a deficit cutting plan have also taken a toll.
Board officials say teachers with unsatisfactory performance evaluations would be the first to lose their jobs, followed by those with least seniority.
