According to Jackson County Sheriff Janis Mangum, the Hope Road bust started as an arrest warrant for 36 year old Robert Darrell Presley for a probation violation.
Investigators serving the warrant said they found drugs in the living room of the home on Hope Road. In addition to the probation warrant, Presley is charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of tools for the commission of crime and possession of marijuana.
A second suspect, 45 year old Clifford Derrick Beauchamp of Danielsville, faces the same charges.
As deputies were arresting the two men, they spotted a vehicle that Beauchamp had earlier claimed was stolen from him. Officers stopped the vehicle and said they found methamphetamine and cash. The three occupants were arrested.
36 year old Brandon Cagle of Nicholson, the driver, was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute.
Two other people in the vehicle, 30 year old Samantha Presley of Commerce and 36 year old Roy Casey of Nicholson, face the same charges as Cagle.
All five suspects were taken to the Jackson County Detention Center.
Investigators did not release the quantity or street value of the seized drugs. The bust happened Monday just before 1:00 a.m.
