CUMMING - The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office has released the name of the woman killed in a three-vehicle crash Thursday that involved a school bus.

43 year old Lesia Elain Bennett of Cumming died at Northside Hospital Forsyth following the afternoon collision.

According to sheriff's deputy Courtney Spriggs, the first crash was between Bennett's SUV and a pickup truck being driven by 17 year old Antonio Aguilera Mora of Cumming in the intersection of Highway 9 and North Old Atlanta Road.

Deputy First Class Michael Nelson said Mora was traveling south on Highway 9 while Bennett was traveling east on North Old Atlanta Road.

"The exact cause of the initial crash remains under investigation. No charges have been filed," Sprigg said.

She said the school bus driver, 46 year old Sheila Trowell, of Cumming, was stopped on Highway 9, waiting at a traffic light to make a left turn onto North Old Atlanta.

"Ms. Bennett's car traveled over and hit the stopped school bus, resulting really in a secondary collision ," Sprigg said.

The bus was reportedly not carrying any students during the 4:50 p.m. wreck.

Mora suffered minor injuries and has since been released from Northside Hospital Forsyth.

Bennett was not wearing a seatbelt according to authorities. She was employed by the Forsyth County School System and worked at Kelly Mill Elementary School, according to obituary information.

No other injuries were reported.
