WCHS TV broadcast students travel to LA

LOS ANGELES, Cal. - Seventeen students and three staff members from White County High School's WTVN-Warrior TV broadcast program are on the west coast the National Television Convention. The White County students will compete for prizes and money at Student Television National Convention.

The convention is the largest in STN's history with more than 2,000 students from across the county competing.

This year's convention is held in downtown Los Angeles and runs through Sunday. The awards ceremony will be Sunday at 1 p.m. ET and broadcast live on the US Education TV Network.

Last year at the national convention in Dallas, Texas, White County High took home two first place awards and $10,000 in prize money.

White County students attending the convention are Kayla Everett, Kanan Patel, Samuel Pruitt, John Jackson, Michael Kliewer, Tiara Olson, Haley Haynes, Hanna Skelton, Jordan Suggs, Tanner Whitehead, Justin Abad, Allie Mills, Breanna Harkins, Kiran Patel, Taylor User, Casey Seabolt and Cade Fortner.

White County High School staff members Nancy Wyszynski, Pete Talton and Charles Dewalt have accompanied the students.
