Gainesville, Hall school employees recognized

CLEVELAND - Each year, the northeast Georgia school districts in the Pioneer RESA area honor an individual who has a strong commitment to improving the educational outcomes for students with disabilities.

The award is given in the name of Phillip Wright who created a legacy of service in the area. Each local school district selected an individual who demonstrates the qualities exemplified by Wright - service, deep respect and regard, commitment, and advocacy for children with special needs.

This year's winners were recognied at a luncheon Friday at Babyland General Ballroom in Cleveland.

The winners and the school systems they represent are as follows:

Gainesville - Jerry Castleberry

Hall County - Lesley Congdon

White Count y- Jane Grillo

Banks County - Melinda Caudell

Habersham County - Margie Holbrook

Dawson County - Melanie Spooner

Alpine Program - Anna Arthur

Lumpkin County - Susann Hirst
