Martin joins GHCC staff; board nominations announced

GAINESVILLE - Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Kit Dunlap announced the addition of Megan Martin to the staff at the Chamber's Board of Directors meeting Thursday. In addition, seven nominations for the board of directors were announced.

Martin is a Hall County native and graduate of Flowery Branch High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Clemson University in 2006. Her work history includes interning at Stewart, Melvin and Frost in Gainesville and at Walt Disney World. She has been in the paper shredding and sensitive materials destruction industry for over five years, most recently serving as the Director of Sales and Marketing at American Security Shredding, Inc. She will serve as Vice President of Membership Development and begins at the Chamber on March 6.

Martin's Chamber volunteer activities include serving on the Hackers Holiday Golf Tournament Committee, Ambassador Committee, and she is currently an Associate Director on the Board. She was named Ambassador of the Year in both 2010 and 2011 and was a recipient of a Silver Shovel Award in 2011. She is a Leadership Hall County graduate. Martin is active in the community, serving as the Chair of the Lanier Charter Career Academy Governing Board and as Volunteer Coordinator for the Northeast Georgia Medical Center Foundation's Golf Tournament.

She and her husband, Nick, live in Hall County and are members at Hopewell Baptist Church.

The following were presented to the chamber board Thursday as nominees to serve three-year terms on the board, 2013-2016:

The board of directors will elect the new members at its March 28 meeting.
