GAINESVILLE - Main Street Gainesville officially released its QR Code project Monday, posting the code in two vacant buildings on the square.

Main Street Manager Regina Mansfield said Main Street is focused on economic development and the new QR project is a great tool to recruit new business to Downtown Gainesville.

"The code will link to an online page that will have vital information and stats such as: contact information, building size/structure details, interior photos, leasing/purchase information, architectural details, historical data and links to resources such as the SBDC and City of Gainesville Permits/Zoning/Utilities information," Mansfield said. "We appreciate the assistance of Fullmedia in getting this project off the ground," Mansfield added.

A QR Code is a type of barcode which can be read by QR scanners, mobile phones with a camera and smartphones - linking the user to a website. QR is for "Quick Response."
