Soccer: Falcons edge Forsyth Central on penalties

CUMMING -- The Flowery Branch boys soccer team battled Forsyth Central to a 1-1 draw through regulation and overtime before winning a penalty shootout 4-3 to claim the victory on Friday in Cumming.<br /> <br /> The Falcons scored to go ahead 1-0 in the first half on a goal from Joey Brett off an assist by Connor Knox before the Bulldogs knotted the score.<br /> <br /> The game moved through regulation and overtime without a winning strike, heading for penalties, where Flowery Branch keeper Jonathan Beltran made two saves to aid the win.<br /> <br /> Beltran finished with 17 saves during the contest.<br /> <br /> Flowery Branch will travel to West Hall on Tuesday.
