District Attorney Danny Porter investigated the shooting death of Dawntrae Williams of Buford, and says he reviewed police and medical examiner's reports, crime scene photos, videotaped interviews and more before making the decision.
Gwinnett County police responded to a domestic disturbance call at the teen's home and said they fired at him because he charged at officers while swinging a machete.
The Gwinnett Daily Post reports Porter agreed use of deadly force was justified in a letter to Gwinnett County Police Chief Charles Walters.
The teen's grandmother has protested the shooting and said her grandson's death was unnecessary.
