ACWORTH -- The Flowery Branch girls basketball team shot just 34 percent for the game, and just 24 percent from 3-point range, but still pushed Allatoona every step of the way before eventually falling 55-49 on Tuesday in the first round of the Class AAAAA state playoffs.

The Lady Falcons, who finished 23-6, came into the game as the fourth seed out of Region 8-AAAAA.

Flowery Branch fell behind early against the Lady Buccaneers, trailing 18-10 after the first quarter. The Lady Falcons rallied in the second quarter to trail just 30-27 at halftime.
