DULUTH - The Gwinnett Gladiators dropped a 3-1 decision to the Florida Everblades on Sunday afternoon at the Arena at Gwinnett Center. Despite the loss, Gwinnett remains in first in the ECHL's South Division as second place Greenville was idle today.

Matthew Pistilli scored the first goal of the game 6:07 into the opening period to give the Everblades the 1-0 lead over Gwinnett.

Joey Haddad answered with a goal for the Gladiators 10:14 into the first. Haddad slid in from the right win point and ripped a shot past Florida goaltender Rob Madore for the goal. Casey Pierro-Zabotel and Alex Belzile notched the assists on the goal to tie the game at one.

Florida notched a pair of second period goals to take a 3-1 lead after two periods. The first goal came from Aaron Bogosian 14:56 into the second period after he squeezed the puck behind Gwinnett net minder Nick Neidert.

The second of Florida's middle stanza goals came on a penalty shot by Corey Trivino. Trivino shot the puck off the stick of Niedert to find the back of the net for the marker.

Although Gwinnett buckeled down defensively in the third period they could not solve Madore who earned his second consecutive win against the Gladiators with 39 saves.

Gwinnett is on the road for the next nine games as they head on the road to take on the Florida Everblades on Tuesday at 7:05 p.m.
