GAINESVILLE - A grass fire burned behind Flowery Branch High School in south Hall County late Friday afternoon.

Details were sketchy, but Hall County Fire Chief David Kimbrell confirmed the county had a fire engine on standby to keep the blaze from spreading to the building.

Commenting just before 6:00 p.m., Kimbrell said Georgia Forestry crews would plow a break around the fire and extinguish it.

Flowery Branch High School is on Spout Springs Road.
