Tennis: Gainesville boys edge West Hall

GAINESVILLE -- The Gainesville boys tennis team edged out West Hall 3-2 on Wednesday at Longwood Park in Gainesville.

The Red Elephants (1-1) won at No. 1 singles behind Jackson Goble -- 6-2, 6-2 -- and No. 3 singles with Reagan Williams -- 6-2, 6-2. Gainesville's No. 2 doubles team of Alec Zaes and Nick Dillard also prevailed in three sets 1-6, 6-4, 6-3.

West Hall's Tatum Scroggs won 6-3, 2-6, 6-3 at No. 2 singles and the Spartans' No. 1 doubles team of Austin Dyer and Grayson Kyle won 6-2, 7-5.

West Hall (0-1) will host Buford on Thursday.
