8-AAAA tournament: Stephens Co. girls advance, knock out Lumpkin Co.

OAKWOOD -- The Stephens County girls basketball team clinched a state playoff berth and moved into the Region 8-AAAA semifinals on Monday courtesy a 38-32 defeat of Lumpkin County at Johnson High in Oakwood.

Chastity Major led Stephens County with 16 points.

Morgan Wood led the Lady Indians with 14 points, while Lacey Robinson pulled down 14 rebounds.

Stephens County will play the winner of Madison County vs. Monroe Area match-up at 4 p.m. Thursday at Johnson.

Lumpkin County's season is now complete.
