PEACHTREE CITY - The National Weather Service Monday afternoon continued a flood watch for several north Georgia counties, including four in our area.

The watch is in effect through 1:00 p.m. Wednesday for Jackson, Madison, Gwinnett and Barrow counties.

Forecasters said between one and three inches of rain has fallen across the watch area since Sunday afternoon, with an additional two to four inches possible through Wednesday morning. Locally higher amounts are possible as rain continued to train across the same areas.

According to the weather service, there is a possibility of flooding along rivers, streams and creeks. Forecasters also said clogged storm drains and ditches could lead to street flooding, especially along low lying areas.
