Fire damages Cleveland home Wednesday morning

Cleveland)- An early morning fire Wednesday heavily damaged a home north of Cleveland.

White County Public Safety Director David Murphy said firefighters responded to the 200 block of Kellum Valley Road at approximately 6:30 a.m.

When they arrived, Murphy advised, they found the single story 1600 square foot, wood frame structure about 30 percent involved. Firefighters from Station 5 & 6 with mutual aid from Cleveland Fire Department and Lee Arrendale Fire Brigade responded to the incident.

According to Murphy, the home was occupied and there were no injuries. He also said the fire is under investigation by the state fire marshal's office.
