CLERMONT - An overdue motorist turned up unharmed Friday afternoon following an overnight and morning search in Hall and White counties.

White County 911 dispatchers got the initial call about the overdue motorist around midnight. They then called Hall County 911, according to Hall County Sheriff's Deputy Nicole Bailes.

The family of the woman had located her vehicle at Mossy Creek Park off Skitts Mountain Drive in Clermont. After processing the vehicle, Bailes said deputies started a ground search and called in the Georgia State Patrol (GSP) helicopter.

With no success overnight, Bailes said deputies called off the search until later Friday morning. The search resumed with the helicopter and Hall County authorities on the ground, including a K9 unit.

The later search lasted about three hours before a investigators got a break from a man.

"A homeowner actually came forward from off the property and advised us that they had knowledge that the female was staying in a cabin in his property," Bailes said.

Deputies found the woman in the cabin, unharmed.

"She did stay there. She remained on scene once we left," Bailes said.

No charges are expected.
