BRASELTON - Veteran councilman Dudley C. Ray, who is leaving office at the end of the year, was honored at the close of his last official meeting Tuesday after serving 16 years on the Braselton Town council.

Tributes and toasts were offered by Town Manager Jennifer Dees, Barrow Commission chair (and former Braselton Mayor) Pat Graham, Jerry Hood of Engineering Management and Mayor Bill Orr.

Ray, who did not run for re-election this year, made the symbolic last motion of the meeting, saying "I make a motion, with pride and honor, to adjourn!"

Many friends of the Rays attended the reception hosted by the Town Council.

Ray will be replaced on the council by Rhonda K. Stites.
