Unicoi sets Polar Bear Plunge Dec. 28

HELEN - Want to take the plunge this year but don't want to drive all the way to Lake Lanier?

Friends of Unicoi will hold their first Polar Bear Plunge from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 28, at Unicoi Lake north of Helen.

Check-in starts at 9:30 a.m., with the Plunge at 11 a.m. on the beach. There will be a Plunger safety meeting at 10:30 a.m.

Each participant will receive a commemorative patch at the event, which will be held rain or shine.

Cost to participate in the event is $10 per person or $25 per family, with all proceeds benefiting Unicoi State Park and Friends of Unicoi.
