The Lanierland basketball tournament will commence its 54th edition on Saturday, as the teams of Hall County vie for local bragging rights.

The tournament will begin with eight games at Flowery Branch High. Second round games will be split between Flowery Branch and Lakeview Academy -- Dec. 19 games at Flowery Branch; Dec. 20 games at Lakeview -- with Lakeview hosting all championship and consolation finals on Dec. 21.

Seeding for the tournament is based on last year's results, and the Chestatee girls and North Hall boys will enter as No. 1 seeds after winning the 2012 Lanierland titles.

All first round games will be broadcast live on the Jacobs Media family of stations, with 1240 AM airing first five contests and WDUN AM 550 taking over at 5:30 p.m. Jacobs Media will continue to broadcast the tournament with boys semifinal on Dec. 19 and girls semifinals on Dec. 20. Both title games will also air live at 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 21.
