Tech to face Ole Miss in Music City Bowl

Georgia Tech has accepted a bid to play Ole Miss in the 2013 Franklin American Mortgage Music Bowl in Nashville, Tenn.

The Yellow Jackets (7-5 overall, 5-3 ACC) and Rebels (7-5 overall, 3-5 SEC) will meet at LP Field, home of the Tennessee Titans, Dec. 30th at 3:15 p.m. ESPN will televise the 16th annual Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl.

Tech will make its 42nd all-time postseason bowl appearance, its first in the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl.

Georgia Tech and Ole Miss will meet on the gridiron for the first time since 1971, a 41-18 Rebels victory in the Peach Bowl. The Yellow Jackets won the first two meetings, including a win over Mississippi on Jan. 1, 1953 in the Sugar Bowl, capping a perfect 12-0 national championship season.

The Yellow Jackets will play in Nashville for the first time since 2009 and they will play at LP Field for the first time. The 68,000-seat facility was erected in 1999.
