Weekend soccer tournament cancelled

GAINESVILLE - Event organizers have cancelled a large soccer tournament in Hall County because rough playing conditions, according to the county.

Part of the Nike Cup soccer tournament was expected to bring hundreds of young players and families to Allen Creek Soccer Complex this weekend.

Tournament organizers said the days of rainfall, heavy at times, made playing fields unsafe.
